Medway is well known for its rich heritage. The Romans and Normans each left their mark and the area has a long seafaring tradition. Rochester Castle and cathedral and the Historic Dockyard Chatham, are just some of the great landmarks.
Charles Dickens grew up in Chatham and Rochester. Many of Dickens’s books feature places and buildings in Medway. Satis House in Great Expectations is the impressive red brick Restoration House in Crow Lane, Rochester and Eastgate House, also in Rochester, was referred to as Westgate House in his first novel, The Pickwick Papers, and as the Nuns House in his last, The Mystery of Edwin Drood. information from www.medway.gov.uk
When going on a Sea Fishing Trip always make sure that the Charter Boat you are using has all the correct licenses and safety equipment. Make sure that you tell someone where you are Fishing and give someone the Skippers contact number.
